The Puentes/Bridges program is a small nonprofit that organizes annual trips to Mexico to bridge the cultural gap between farmers and immigrant dairy workers — and the families they left behind.

Madeline Heim joined the Center in May 2018 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with degrees in journalism and creative writing and a certificate in Gender and Women's Studies. Before working at the Center, she was an editorial intern for On Wisconsin magazine and editor-in-chief of The Daily Cardinal, an independent student newspaper. She is currently an education reporter at the Winona Daily News in Winona, Minnesota.
