Erin McGroarty joined Wisconsin Watch as an investigative reporting intern in June 2022. She is pursuing a Master’s degree in journalism at UW Madison, specializing in reporting on criminal justice and mass incarceration. Erin served as a fellow for the Center for Journalism Ethics during the ’21-’22 academic year. Before moving to Madison, Erin worked for more than three years in Fairbanks, Alaska as a political reporter for the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner. Erin holds an interdisciplinary B.A. in journalism, history and political science from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She lives in Madison with her partner, H, and their two dogs.
