Two students complained to Greek life officials about Officer Diego Lema Hernandez, but the complaint was not forwarded to UWPD, which interviewed no students during its investigation.

Ella Hanley recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Journalism and Mass Communication. She spent a year as a fellow at UW-Madison’s Center for Journalism Ethics and served in multiple editorial roles at The Daily Cardinal, an independent student newspaper at UW-Madison. Her work with the Cardinal has been recognized by the Wisconsin Newspaper Association and Milwaukee Press Club. She was a spring reporting intern at Isthmus and is currently a reporting intern at The Capital Times.
