THE DISTRICT

This district includes parts of Eau Claire, the city of Altoona, and the villages of Augusta, Fall Creek, Fairchild and Cadott. It is a Democratic -eaning seat.

THE NUTSHELL

Rep. Jodi Emerson, D-Eau Claire, faces a challenge from Republican Eau Claire County Board Supervisor Michele Skinner. Emerson is favored due to the partisan composition of the district. Emerson, first elected in 2018, emphasizes the need for affordable housing, tax cuts for small businesses, targeted medical care and access to IVF treatment. Emerson authored a package of housing bills to increase workforce and senior housing throughout the state. Skinner serves on the Lake Altoona Rehabilitation and Protection District board and plans to tackle clean water, affordable housing and the environment. She also worked at TV stations for many years, and now believes her neutral perspectives can accommodate both sides of political aisle.

PRIMARY RESULTS

Both Emerson and Emerson advanced without an opponent.
