THE DISTRICT

The 68th Assembly District is a largely rural district covering Price and Rusk counties, along with parts of Chippewa and Taylor counties. It is a safe Republican district.

THE NUTSHELL

Rep. Rob Summerfield, R-Bloomer, chair of the Majority Caucus, faces Democrat Richard Pulcher, of Lublin, who has worked as a union steward for nearly two decades and was a volunteer firefighter for 20 years. Summerfield has held office since 2017. He has helped operate several small businesses around the Chippewa Valley. Summerfield is favored to win due to the partisan composition of the district.

PRIMARY RESULTS

Summerfield defeated Taylor by a comfortable margin and will face Pulcher who was uncontested.
