THE DISTRICT

This district includes all of Lincoln and Langlade counties and portions of Marathon, Shawano and Octono counties. It is a safe Republican seat.

THE NUTSHELL

Republican incumbent Rep. Calvin Callahan faces Democratic challenger Lincoln County Supervisor Elizabeth McCrank in the Nov. 5 election. Callahan is favored to win given the partisan lean of the district. Callahan has served as chair of the Consumer Protection Committee and vice chair of the Forestry, Parks and Outdoor Recreation Committee and the Insurance Committee. In the Legislature, he worked to reduce taxes and supported legislation that would have banned gender-affirming care for minors. McCrank is on the Board of Canvass and the Solid Waste Committee in Lincoln County and also served on the Lincoln County Land Services, Highway, Social Services and Emergency Planning Committees. She wants to enhance government transparency, protect reproductive healthcare and help local communities develop custom solutions.

PRIMARY RESULTS

Callahan soundly defeated primary challenger Todd Mayr and will face McCrank who did not have a primary opponent.
