THE DISTRICT

This district stretches from the Appleton area across Calumet County and into Manitowoc County. It’s a safe Republican district.

THE NUTSHELL

Rep. Ron Tusler, R-Harrison, will be a heavy favorite to win this seat in November after fellow Rep. Ty Bodden, R-Hilbert, who was also drawn into this district, opted not to challenge him in the Republican primary. Tusler was first elected to the Assembly in 2016. He chairs the Assembly Judiciary Committee. He faces a challenge from Democrat Emily Voight. Voight is a Calumet County Board member who challenged Tusler in 2020. Tusler won that race by 19 percentage points. Given that it’s a safe Republican district, Tusler is once again a heavy favorite.

PRIMARY RESULTS

Both Tusler and Voight advanced, setting up a rematch of the 2020 general election. Neither had a primary opponent.
