THE DISTRICT

This safe Republican seat encompasses Menomonee Falls and Germantown.

THE NUTSHELL

State Sen. Dan Knodl, R-Germantown, was drawn into the same district as Sen. Duey Stroebel, R-Saukville, and decided to run for the Assembly to avoid a costly primary. He previously served in the Assembly from January 2009 to May 2023. He faces Democrat William Walter, executive director of liberal group Our Wisconsin Revolution. Given the district’s Republican tilt, Knodl is expected to win the seat.

PRIMARY RESULTS

Knodl defeated Rep. Janel Brandtjen, the only Wisconsin legislative candidate to be endorsed by Donald Trump, with two-thirds of the vote and will face Walter who was uncontested.
