THE DISTRICT

This Democratic-leaning district includes a part of West Allis, stretching west to the border of Milwaukee and Waukesha counties.

THE NUTSHELL

Rep. Robyn Vining was moved into the 13th Assembly District by redistricting. Angelito Tenorio, a former member of the West Allis Common Council who ran for state treasurer in 2022, won a three-way Democratic primary and faces Republican Jim Engstrand, a small business owner who served in the military for more than 25 years, is also running. On social media, he has said he’s working to “Make America Great Again.” Engstrand has previously run for public office in Texas, according to Ballotpedia. Independent candidate Steven Shevey said he’s running “to fight for the middle class in Madison.”

PRIMARY RESULTS

Tenorio won a close three-way primary contest and will face Engstrand who did not have a primary opponent.
