THE DISTRICT

The 83rd Assembly District includes the southeastern portion of Waukesha, stretching eastward to also encompass New Berlin and parts of Muskego. It is a safe Republican seat.

THE NUTSHELL

Incumbent Rep. Dave Maxey, R-Berlin, faces Democrat Jill Schindler in the Nov. 5 election. Schindler does not have public information out about her campaign. Maxey has served in the Legislature since 2022 and is the vice chair of the Committee on Campaign and Elections, and participates in four other committees. He promotes himself as anti-abortion, an education reformer and an advocate for low property taxes. Maxey is favored to win in the heavily Republican district.

PRIMARY RESULTS

Both Maxey and Schindler advanced without an opponent.
