THE DISTRICT

This suburban Milwaukee district encompasses Port Washington, Grafton, Cedarburg and parts of Mequon. It is a safe Republican seat.

THE NUTSHELL

Rep. Paul Melotik, R-Grafton, is seeking a full term after first being elected in a July 2023 special election. He faces Democrat Dana Glasstein, an educator and one of the plaintiffs in the lawsuit that resulted in Wisconsin’s gerrymandered voting maps being thrown out by the state Supreme Court. Melotik serves as vice chair of the Assembly Committee on Government Accountability and Oversight. He previously spent six years serving on the Grafton town board. Given the partisan lean of the district, he is a strong favorite in November.

PRIMARY RESULTS

Both Melotik and Glasstein advanced. Neither had a primary opponent.
