Kynala Phillips is an editorial assistant and reporter for Madison365 — a publication dedicated to keeping Madison’s communities of color informed. Previously she was a public engagement and marketing intern for Wisconsin Watch. She was a First Wave scholar at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, and was a publicist for the Wisconsin Black Student Union.
