THE NUTSHELL

Incumbent Angie Sapik, R-Lake Nebagamon, announced she would not seek reelection. Republican Frank Kostka of Ashland faces Democrat Angela Stroud. Kostka served as Department Commander for the Wisconsin American Legion in 2019 and is now a member of the Wisconsin American Legion Board of Directors. Stroud, who lives in the town of Gingles, is a longtime educator. She currently works as an associate professor of sociology and social justice at Northland College. After redistricting the former Republican seat is now a safe Democratic seat.
