THE DISTRICT

This likely Republican district includes Ozaukee, Sheboygan and Manitowoc counties along Lake Michigan. It stretches west to include Columbia, Marquette and Waushara counties, as well as Fond du Lac and Winnebago counties.

THE NUTSHELL

U.S. Rep. Glenn Grothman, R-Glenbeulah, is seeking a sixth term in the U.S. House, breaking a 2014 pledge to only serve five terms in Congress. First elected in 2014, Grothman defeated longtime Rep. Tom Petri in a primary by running to his right. He currently serves on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. Democrat John Zarbano, a retired attorney from Oshkosh, will challenge Grothman in November. He’s campaigning on bolstering abortion rights, updating the U.S. immigration system and strengthening Social Security and Medicare. Grothman is favored to win due to the partisan composition of the district.

PRIMARY RESULTS

Grothman and Zarbano both advanced. Neither faced a primary opponent.
